My 9 year old Zac says he doesn't like popcorn. My other kids love to watch a movie with some microwave popcorn (kettle corn and cheesy popcorn- or orange popcorn) are their favorites. But Zac refuses to eat it. He says the only popcorn he likes is caramel corn. So if we have a family movie night that's what he wants. But I don't always want to make it since it takes a while to make. Well, we like the ooey gooey caramel corn that you have to boil to soft ball stage. It is delicious. But I've found a way to fake it. It's not completely the same but has a nice sweet sticky sauce on it. This fake caramel corn is actually called sweetened popcorn. I usually pop 2 bags of the healthy microwave popcorn and use it for this recipe. And then everyone is happy.
Sweetened Popcorn
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup water
1 cup white sugar
6 cups popped butter flavor popcorn
In a large pot or Dutch oven, combine butter, water and sugar. Bring to a boil. Boil 4 minutes; remove from heat. Introduce popcorn and stir to coat evenly. Eat right out of the bowl!

What are the two baking sheets lined with waxed paper for?
Oops sorry. That was from the original recipe that told you to pour the popcorn onto the baking sheets to cool. Highly unnecessary in my opinion.
